Still no babe so I've been surfing the web and reading while I can:

Loving this new inspiration blog - a few friends have been interviewd there too - yah!

This book is making me laugh out loud ~ a must read !

I've become such an online shopper; it's becoming or is a problem I think...but there is so many cute things out there and I'm a sucker for them all!

Of course if you haven't heard about Shuttersisters yet you need to check them out - very very cool chix!

I can't seem to resist Rae Dunn

wanting...

i just finished the wonderful book "momma zen" that andrea recommended. it's truly amazing and lets you be who you are and gives you permission for whatever you're thinking.

i of course checked out Karen Maezen Miller's blog and came across this quote and it speaks to me on so many levels

"We never quite arrive at the outcome that we have in mind, because nothing is quite what we think it is. It is so much more, and it keeps going!"

If I could remind myself of that daily I think the anxiety and impatience I have would lessen....see, she's a wise zen momma.

misery ....

leaf.jpg

years ago when living in minneapolis i worked in a call center with an amazingly hilarious guy Jesse; he made the experience tolerable and we found ways to laugh our asses off through out the day in the midst of the misery

when tim and i were leaving to move back to madison, jesse gave me a book called "Misery" by Suzanee Heller. I've kept this book over the years and when things seem to be getting just a little too much i pull this out and laugh because of who gave it to me and because of the content. the illustrations are awesome!

it's amazing how people can touch your lives in such a short period of time...jesse and i lost touch and i wonder where he is now....

~ misery is not being able to sleep at 3am
~ misery is not being able to sleep and not being able to just crank the stereo and dance because that's what you really want to do
~ misery is feeling constipated
~ misery is being cold even when you're wearing a sweatshirt, t-shirt, sweats and slippers
~ misery is having a head cold for over 2 weeks and still not being able to breathe through your nose
~ misery is blowing your nose through 5 boxes of tissues
~ misery is waiting
~ misery can be fun at times when shared with someone you love

in the midst of chaos

laugh bw_web.jpg
photo taken by Andrea

i'm finding some peace between the lines
don't really know how or what i'm doing but there is a sense of peace
a peace that tells me everything is just going to work out ~ it usually does
not without a bit of struggle of course

all of a sudden a few things happened ~ a friend reached out, another friend lended a hand, another shared a story and some money came in...

in the midst of chaos there is some peace .... and of course laughter mixed in for sweetness

hmmmmm....it feels nice

Happy New Year ~ 2008

clouds.jpg

Proper Steps

I only do this until I get dizzy
& then I lay down on my back &
watch the clouds, she said.
It sounds simple
but you won't believe
how many people forget the second part.
