Moving Along...

baybridge.jpg

Thanks to everyone who sent such sweet messages to Tim and I about our wonderful news ~ we truly are so excited and we know this is going to be one wild ride!

I'm feeling much better and now it's all about just preparing - reading the books, listening to everyone's advise and stories, going to Dr. appts, taking yoga, walking, eating right, and taking the time to just sit and breathe.

Really realizing this is going to happen ~ Tim and I are going to be parents. WOW. It's still pretty unbelievable.

Thanks again for everyone's support and love - I don't know what I'd do without you.

Calm...

pelicans_calm.jpg

Today we drove down Hwy 1 - along the coast to Santa Cruz.
I needed to get out of the city, I wanted to get away.

Get away from everything that stresses me out and just see the beauty of the ocean, the fog, the sand, the sun peeking out when it wanted, to see the pelicans take flight, dive and sail through the air like perfect calm.

I needed it and I sure I got it.

surprises...

bridge_of_life.jpg

Over the past few days I've come to realize (not that I didn't really
know before) but I've been reminded 10 fold that I have the most
amazing friends and family. Their excitement and support has given me
such joy even with most of them living far away. Their support and
love travels the miles between us and I feel it.
I want to thank them - thank them for always being there for me, for us and
always listening and always lending their support.

I don't know what I'd do without each and every one of them.
*****

I've been keeping a secret for the past month or so that has been very
hard for me since I'm not usually very good with keeping secrets about
myself - especially good, exciting ones. But it's time to spill it -
spill the news!

I'm pregnant!

Yes, Tim and I are going to have a baby and we couldn't be happier. I
must say I'm scared and there are definitly anxieties going through my
head but over all I'm very happy and excited about the next few months
and of course the years to come!

Wow!! - it feels so good to put it out there for the universe - it's been
hard keeping it inside.

seeing

jeremy_beach.jpg

My cousin Jeremy is visiting this week from Wisconsin - it's so nice to see him and have him here. To share this wonderful city with him.
It's also nice to just have family here - someone who knows the ins and outs of most everything I know. It's comforting.

One of the most important and usually the first things we do when someone comes to visit is go to the beach - the beach - the ocean, experiencing it's massiveness.
So of course we did and it was such a beautiful, windy San Francisco day minus the regular fog. What a treat.

Our Journey...

partycup.jpg

My Motto...steal it if you like it:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather
to skid in sideways, Champagne in one hand - strawberries in the other, body
thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming YAHOOOO!- What a Ride!"

Summer days...

GoldenGate.jpg

It's been over 80 in the city the past few days and sometimes even over 90. The summer has ended in most of the country and fall is slowly slipping into it's groove but not in San Francisco - the summer here has just begun! It's very unusual for it to be this hot this many days in a row and it's weird, wonderful and a little bit uncomfortable.

I spent the weekend in my apt - trying to keep cool, not moving very much and just laying around. I did venture out a few times and one was to the Alameda Antique Flea Market and man, it was HOT! But the event was awesome - so many rows of great finds; too many rows of great finds. We hardly had the time to see everything - but now we've been, we've seen and experienced and we'll be going back!
Other times were actually after the HOT sun went down - walking at night without a sweater or coat is very unusual in the City but it was so delightful to do the last couple of nights - just walk like it's one of those old midwest summer nights I remember so well.. it brought me back.. (without the humidity of course)

Other than that not a whole lot is going on now a days - it's weird. I feel a bit bored, a bit tired and a bit like I need something, anything to just to shake this girl up a bit.
Some kind of something! Something good of course, something fun, something exciting and spur of the moment, something creative and beautiful. Just something.....

I'm sure something will come along soon enough.....

Seeing

Jamaica_bananas.jpg

Sometimes what we want the most and think we can't have
or won't ever have...
is actually sitting right in front of us
just waiting for us to slow down and notice....
