I spent tonight taking care of 2 - 2 1/2 year old little girls. My own and her friend Sophie (we trade with her parents on date nights and tonight was theirs) Tim had to work so just me and 2 little girls. I have to get used to taking care of 2 so why not start now.....
Fun and exhausting are two words I'll use. They are so cute together when they are running down the hall after one another, even cute when they get upset with one another if the other isn't "sharing" ~ even though I had a hell of a week at work and today was the ultimate where I found myself laughing hysterically and then realizing I might be going nuts?!! Even though after this week and this day I was able to pick them up from daycare, bring them home, make them dinner and enjoy their company without being too stressed or even tired. It made me feel good....doing something that felt meaningful and FUN.
Going to bed was a challenge but I knew that might be the case so I prepared myself...we'll see how long they last in there ....we might just start hearing "The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round" any time now.

Posted by stef at November 2, 2007 10:10 PMoh yeah! i remember those little girl play dates for my girl so many years ago, especially the time she and claire took every stitch of a toy, stuffed animal, lego -- you name it -- and piled them all in a little-big mountain in the middle of her room...they were both delighted with their work and all i could do (with an insurance adjuster over at the time) was laugh with him as he said, "aren't they cute?" oh yeah...
