can't wait to see your drawing! as for the ants and the washing machine.... gaaaaaaah!!! sorry for the troubles. i know with kadison, it's not a great idea to use toxic substances for the ants. but if you could just put out grant's ant stakes during the time she's at childcare and then pick them back up before she's home... that works. Be sure to run hot water over the opening of the stake first and use a toothpick to stir the goop up a bit. This technique worked well for us. good luck!

ants! we had a recent invasion just before christmas. if you can figure out where they're getting it, put a lot of cinnamon around that area. cinnamon is too acidic/basic (can't remember which one) for ants and it smells really good + isn't toxic for humans. also cauking up the cracks/places they come in seems to work. the last thing we did was to use those ant traps... that seemed to do the trick pretty well. they also don't like windex. hope this helps!

Regular ol' dish soap is supposed to keep them away. Run some soapy water, what everything down and let it dry. I use this indoor/outdoor ant/insect spray from home depot or lowes. We usually get them in the summer and they seem to be looking for water...not sweets! good luck....

put some plastic plates of honey and sugar and graham cracker crumbs outside, the ants will go to it. inside, the cheapest grant's ants traps work pretty well. and keep all sweets in the fridge. it is a seasonal thing. they get cold and flooded out and come inside looking for crumbs. you can beat them! i have been able to in every place i have lived. california is so anty! hee hee
